EmailFrom a modest beginning in his garage, Hal Wing created Little Giant Ladder Systems and directed the growth of his new company into an international, multi-million-dollar manufacturing and marketing corporation. In the 1970s, he immediately recognized the potential of a special ladder invented by a German painter. Hal brought the ladder to the United States where he named it “The Little Giant.†Hal then went on the road and single-handedly sold over $500,000 of product the first year.
Since that time, Hal has patented many innovations and improvements in ladder design and manufacturing. He has also successfully marketed several special-purpose ladders, a scaffold system, and a number of innovative ladder accessories. Hal is very active in church and civic affairs and serves on the board of directors for a number of corporations. He is listed in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in the West, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Men of Achievement, and was selected as a candidate for the 1982 Freedom Festival Man of the Year Award.
In 1986, Hal was invited to serve as a representative at President Reagan’s White House Conference of Small Businesses in Washington, D.C. In 1997, Hal was elected mayor of Springville, Utah, and has also served on the panel of the Mountainland Association of Government Regional Review Committee and is currently on the local Wells Fargo board. He served in the United States Army in Germany from 1958 through 1961. While in Germany, he met and married Brigitte Mayer. They have since raised seven children.
N. Ryan Moss | Chief Executive Officer
EmailRyan Moss joined Little Giant Ladder Systems at the age of 21 as a manufacturing line worker. Within two years, he was promoted to shop foreman. Ryan’s performance—coupled with steady growth at Little Giant Ladder Systems—opened many opportunities, and after five years as shop foreman, Ryan became the plant manager and then vice president of manufacturing. During his time in these positions, he streamlined production methods and processes, resulting in significant cost reductions and quality improvements. Ryan’s successful efforts eventually led him to become chief operations officer. In this role, Ryan directed the company’s personnel, customer service, manufacturing, product development and fulfillment operations. He was also the inspiration behind the Little Giant Ladder infomercial, which resulted in substantial revenue growth for the company. Ryan now serves as the company’s chief executive officer, guiding all operations and overseeing the development and implementation of the company’s long-term strategy. In addition, Ryan currently serves on the board of directors of the American Ladder Institute, the leading national association of ladder manufacturers. He also holds numerous patents, several for new innovations and improvements in ladder manufacturing and design. Ryan is active in church and civic duties, enjoys various sports, and resides in Mapleton, Utah, with his wife, Vickie, and their five children.
H. Arthur Wing | President
EmailArt Wing has provided leadership and innovative thinking for Little Giant Ladder Systems since the company started manufacturing Little Giant Ladders in his father's garage. Art began his career as a full-time employee in 1973, sweeping floors and assembling ladder systems at the Wing warehouse in Salt Lake City, Utah. He worked his way up the company, first serving as quality control manager in the Provo, Utah, factory; then as a salesman at conventions and tradeshows. Eventually, Art became the company’s dealer representative, where he developed and expanded the national dealer division, restructuring discount pricing and creating a new freight incentive program. With the success garnered through his sales and business expertise, Art was named executive vice president of Little Giant Ladder Systems in 1983. In his current role as president of Little Giant Ladder Systems, Art oversees all aspects of marketing and sales, budgeting, motivating, and in general, guaranteeing the overall successful growth of the brands under the Little Giant umbrella. Art has played a major role in turning his family’s company into one of the world's largest manufacturer of ladders. He was the creative force behind the company’s record-breaking television infomercial, co-writing and producing three very successful 30-minute shows. Art considers the employees of Little Giant Ladder Systems to be the company's greatest assets and believes in treating them as such. He is very active in church and civic affairs and enjoys travelling around the world, golfing, and riding motorcycles. He speaks German fluently, which serves him well in his travels and business ventures. Art and his wife, Cindy, have three children and reside in Provo, Utah.
Douglas R. Wing | Senior Vice President
EmailEver since he helped his father start the business, Doug Wing has been an integral part of the sales team at Little Giant Solutions. At the age of 22, Doug was named the customer service manager in charge of all aspects of the company’s interaction with its customers. As senior vice president of sales, Doug has mentored a number of regional sales managers and helped increase the company’s sales to industrial distributors by 400 percent. Doug recently took sole responsibility for all of the company's sales and administrative training and personnel development. Doug brings over twenty-years of experience as a leader and mentor. He will direct all internal and external personnel training activities for the company. Prior to this change, Doug guided several divisions within the company, including industrial retail, convention marketing, corporate, military and government, and catalog sales divisions. Doug enjoys the outdoors, motorcycling, and especially spending time with his family. He currently serves as the county chair for his political party. Doug resides in Nephi, Utah, with his wife, Martha, and their son.
